Wyatt's Week

Howdy Friends! Next Sunday is my birthday- I'm turning the big 9 (never mind how old that makes me in dog years)! I love birthdays, and I hate the celebration just to be confined to one measly day. So this year, I decided to make July 29-August 2 WYATT'S WEEK. What do you think?

Since I have everything I need (food, a warm place to sleep, and more pats and hugs than any dog on the planet), I thought it would be nice during my week to collect donations for my canine and feline friends who aren't so fortunate.

So, any time during WYATT'S WEEK, come by the Ranch and drop off toys, treats, food, supplies (see below for the list of needed items), or cash and I will personally deliver it to Citizens for Animal Protection to be used to help homeless pets.

We'll also be celebrating my birthday at the Ranch on Wednesday, July 31, so drop by any time that day for cake and (dog) cookies.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Hugs and Kisses

Hugs are the best, aren't they? There's science behind that- something about the release of endorphins or something...but all I know is whenever I get a hug from one of my friends, I always feel better.

And some added bonuses: Hugs are FREE, non-fattening, and have no unpleasant side effects. They are (almost) better than dog treats!

Fall Fun!

I was one busy Sheriff in October. Every weekend, I've had another event to attend, where I'm dressed up, painted, petted and given all the attention I want. It's a rough life, let me tell ya.

Waggin' Tails participated in the Rice Harvest Festival in Katy, our own annual Hoedown here at the Ranch, and the Celebrate your Princess Breast Cancer Walk last month. Here's some pictures, in case you missed me!

Rice Harvest Festival: October 13.

My new pal WYATT- great name, dude

Me with the Wyatt girls- who knew my name was so popular?

It's a tough job being this adored, but somebody's got to do it!

Yes, that's me. With a group of  Princesses. Be jealous.

The girls adore me

I even did a little Zumba!
Yaaaawwwn. I'm tired from all that October excitement. I think I'll take off the month of November!

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Hello Friends! I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer, full of great memories. It's been super busy around here the past few months- lots and lots of dogs came to stay this summer. A few weeks ago, I decided to do some filming of my friends cooling off in the pool; as you can see, they have a blast swimming, chasing each other, and diving after balls. Want to join in the fun? Call for a reservation....the pool's still open!

Future Therapy Dogs

Hello Friends! Sorry it's been so long since I posted here. Lots going on, writers block...please accept my apologies. Anyway, I'm back today to tell you about an awesome opportunity my friend Pogo and I had today.

So you know how I loooooovvvve people, right? Well, for some time now I've been considering becoming a therapy dog to reach out and give back since I have such a great life here at the Ranch. Today, I took the leap and had my first evaluation to becoming an official therapy dog.

Pam Wilson at Therapy Dogs, Inc. was nice enough to meet us at Spanish Meadows and Pogo and I visited several residents to see how we interacted. We both passed with flying colors!

Let me stop for a minute and tell you about Pogo. Pogo is a sweet poodle who was found in a crate on the side of the road by a kind policeman. His leg was mangled and couldn't be saved, but thankfully, he does great on three legs (hence the name Pogo). Pogo was adopted recently from CAP by Adrienne, one of WT's receptionists. Adrienne's daughter Cassie is Pogo's best buddy.

Anyway, both Pogo and I are well on our way to becoming therapy dogs. We have two more observations in different settings, but I will definitely let you know when we are officially certified!

My Waggin' Tails Family is so proud of me and Pogo!
